CIGLER, Anton - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Tony Cigler at home with his wife by his side, on Thursday October 4, 2007, in his 71st year. After fighting cancer with determination, strength and his wicked “red neck sense of humour“. Tony is survived by his devoted soul mate Ina of 45 years. Mentor and cherished father of Erica Stratford and her friend Cam and Christine Deshane. Dear friend and respected father-in-law to Joe Deshane. Much loved grandfather of Amanda, Samantha and Tyler Stratford. Tony is predeceased by his parents Tony Sr. and Lydia Cigler. Brother of Hardy Cigler (Linda) and family. He is the loved son-in-law of Charlotte and the late Fritz. The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Bard who went above and beyond the call of duty and to all the nurses for their unwavering care and support. Tony lived each and everyday to the fullest and found great enjoyment from his many years as an avid sailor and working with and riding horses along side his daughter Erica. The Cigler family owned and operated the Canadian Tavern, Paris for 42 years. In keeping with Tony's wishes there will be no formal visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the HILL & ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE 30 Nelson Street 519-752-2543. A celebration of Tony's life will be held on Sunday October 7 from 1-3 pm at the home of Christine and Joe Deshane, 63 BANFIELD STREET, PARIS. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Tony's memory to the Norfolk General Hospital. “Work of sight is done.
