PARFITT, DIANE ELAINE - The death of Elaine (Brockway) Parfitt, 69, of Saint John, NB, occurred on September 28, 2007 after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. Born in St. Stephen, NB on October 31, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Smith) (Vail) Brockway. Diane is survived by her loving husband, Foster of 43 years; one son, Troy of Taiwan ROC; and one daughter, Kimberly of Rothesay, NB; sisters, Hilda Nichols (Robert) of Lincoln, NB and Joan McLeod (Glen) of Brockway, NB; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane would also like to acknowledge her second family, Cedric Vail, Brockway, NB, Ralph Vail of Woodstock, NB and Carl Vail of Tweedside, NB. After graduating from high school and one year of Business College, Diane moved to Saint John, NB where she was employed with the Provincial Government (Motor Carrier Board) for 14 years. She was also recording secretary for IOF Court Kennebecasis #1209. Diane was a member of Silver Falls United Church. Some of her interests included knitting, crocheting, reading, and attending many of the senior and AHL hockey games as well as the related sports her family participated in. Resting at Cavanagh Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 91 Leinster Street (634-1712) with visiting on Sunday from 7 to 9pm and Monday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 11:00am in Cavanagh's Chapel followed by a reception at the funeral home and internment in Ocean View Cemetery.
