Nora Mildred BEAUMONT

Nora Mildred (Beaumont) Smith-Steeves 1921-2007 Nora Mildred Smith-Steeves, 86, of Forest Dale Home, Riverside-Albert and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on September 30, 2007 at Forest Dale Home with her loving family by her side. Nora was born in Edgett's Landing on March 16, 1921, the daughter of the late Harry and Nettie (Graham) Beaumont. She grew up as a member of the Albert Mines Baptist Church and also attended the First Hillsborough Baptist Church in her later years after moving to Hillsborough. She taught Sunday School for many years which she loved dearly. She was a lifetime member of the Women's Missionary Society, a member of the Silver Chords Choir where she enjoyed singing with her friends very much. The most important thing to Nora was being a good homemaker for her family, she took great care of all her family's needs. She worked at a nursing home as a cook, before working for several years at the Rock's Pavilion Restaurant, where she was well known for her great homestyle cooking and for her hospitality. She made many friends during her years at the Rock's. She was also an avid animal lover and raised Pekingese dogs for a while, they were her extended family. Nora was a very special lady with a big heart who will also be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and for always being there for her family. Mom we will always remember your dedication to your family and the great care you gave, you will never be forgotten and will live on in our hearts forever. She will be deeply missed by her devoted children, Jane Weaver (Jack) of Hillsborough, Sandy McIssac (Dwayne) of Albert Mines and Dale Smith of McLean Settlement, Kings Co; and also lovingly raised by Nora, Jack Wilson (Mary) of Riverview; her treasured grandchildren, Randy Weaver and Kimberly Hawken (Jeff) both of Calgary, Alberta, Jeff McIssac (Tracy) of Moncton, Cindy Leavitt (Carl) of Oromocto, Bonnie Smith of Dieppe, Dale Smith Jr. of England, Kelly Ceretti (Trevor) of Miramichi and Melody Smith; great-grandchildren, Hailey Hawken, Michael Copp, Aiden McIssac, Ethan McIssac; step great-granddaughter, Ashley; and great-grandchildren, Macayla, Samatha, Landon and Carson. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, and by many good friends. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Aubrey Smith and second husband, Marven Steeves; son-in-law, Gus Fenton; baby grandson, Timmy Smith; also by 12 brothers and sisters. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert Mines Baptist Church on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jack Allen officiating. Interment will be in the Albert Mines Baptist Cemetery, Albert Mines.
