HOOPER, William Alfred (Bill) - Of Vittoria, Ontario passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at the Norfolk General Hospital. Bill is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, his children (from a previous marriage) Sheri-Lynne and Sean, his stepchildren Mike Leendertse, Michelle Stassburger (Chad) and Paul Leendertse (Melissa). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Mike, Ashley, Jesse, Rachel and Cole, his sister Pat MacAulay and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his mother Daisy Hooper and his brother-in-law Stu MacAulay. He was the proud manager of the Normandale and Chatsworth Fish Hatcheries for 37 years and was instrumental in creating a nature path adjoining the Normandale Hatchery. Bill was an active member of St. James United Church, Probus and the Simcoe Seniors Centre. Visitation will be held at ST. JAMES UNITED CHURCH, Colborne St., S., Simcoe on Wednesday, October 10 from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, October 11 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral service will commence in the church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mary Jo Patterson officiating. Cremation and private memorial service later. Memorial donations to St. James United Church or to the family would be appreciated.
