STONEHOUSE, Robert C.C. (Bob) - of Toronto, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Toronto East General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer in his 61st year. Bob is the son of the late CMDR. Llewellyn O. Stonehouse RCN-R (1981), who was a former Mayor of Wallaceburg, and the late Ruth K. Stonehouse, nee Bowers (1987). Mr. Stonehouse is survived by his only brother Hugh W. Stonehouse and Mary Ann Horak of Blenheim and his former sister-in- law Linda Stonehouse of Blenheim. Dear uncle of Hugh O. & Julie Stonehouse, Jeffrey J. & Lisa Stonehouse and Karen L. Stonehouse all of Blenheim and several grand nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Stonehouse was a brilliant academic, having graduated from McGill University at the age of 18. From there he received his masters degree in English from the University of California - Santa Barbara. Turning to Law, he graduated from Osgoode Hall in Toronto in 1970. Following this final graduation, Mr. Stonehouse traveled extensively to Europe and South America where he pursued his fondness for rare books and manuscripts. He held several Corporate Law positions with different companies in the Toronto area. Ill health forced him to retire from the Department of Citizenship and Immigration with his final position an Immigration Adjudicator. A private family service was held at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street (at Elgin) in Wallaceburg. Mr. Storehouse's cremated remains will be interred in Riverview Cemetery. If desired, remembrances to the Continuing Care Unit (palliative care) at the CKHA - Sydenham Campus may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231.
