Margaret Rose EWALD

EWALD, Sister St. Hubert (Margaret Rose) - Entered Eternal life on October 14, 2007 in Chatham, Ontario. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1908, the daughter of the late Martin and Emma (Walgemuth) Ewald. She entered the Ursuline Sisters in 1927. She has ministered as a teacher in Tecumseh, Tilbury, Windsor, Blenheim, Chatham and Toronto. She was on the Board of Directors of the Ecumenical Council of Canada; a Volunteer at the Catholic New Times and C.I.R.G.; and a teacher and homemaker at the Gull Bay- Christian Presence Hospitality Centre in Gull Bay, Ontario. In 1984 she returned to Glengarda, Windsor and taught Laubach Literacy Teaching to Adults as well as being a Pastoral Minister and Nursing Home Visitor until 1987. Sister then returned to mission work for one year ministering to the native peoples in Grassy Narrow, Ontario. In 1988 she returned to Glengarda, Windsor until 1996 when she moved to “The Pines“, Chatham. Sister is survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers, Martin and Carl, and sister, Jean Cornwall. Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held Tuesday, October 16th at 7 p.m. in the kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 17 at 11 a.m. in the kiva at Villa Angela. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.
