CHAPMAN, Morley - It is with great sadness the family of J. Morley Chapman announce his passing at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville, with his children and wife by his side on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, in his 78th year. Beloved husband and best friend for 59 years of Janet (Lynn) Chapman. Loving father of Phyllis Gifford, Joanne (Bryan) Fretz, Jim (Gail), John (Sherry), and Jay (Lisa). Cherished grandfather of Veronica (Dan) Gagnon, Owen (Theresa) Gifford, Chris (Crystal) Chapman, Jamie Chapman, Sarah Gifford, Katrina, Justin, Robert, Heather, Megan, Samantha Chapman and 7 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a sister Marlene (Wes) Barber, brothers and sisters-in-law Fay Messner, Joe Kenny, John Lynn, Joy Schmidt, Joan Rose, Jane Reddekopp, Mary Meyer and David (Eileen) Lynn. Predeceased by sisters Muriel and Marilyn, son-in-law Ralph Gifford and grandson Adam Gifford. Morley was a long time member of Trinity United Church, South Cayuga and Amity Lodge #32 AF & AM, and past councillor for Ward 7, South Cayuga Township. Family and friends remember the days of R & M BA and later R & M Gulf. Friends were received at the BALLARD-MINOR FUNERAL HOME, 315 Broad St. E., Dunnville, on Saturday from 7- 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held in the Chapel on Monday, October 15, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert Thompson officiating. Interment Trinity Cemetery, South Cayuga. Masonic memorial service was held Sunday evening at 6:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity United Church or Dunnville Health Centre Volunteer Association, would be appreciated.
