EVANS, William S. J. “Bill” - Peacefully on Tuesday October 23, 2007 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, in his 76th year. Beloved husband and best friend for 53 years of Marjorie (Connolly); Loving father of Jo-Anne (James) Arnold, Colleen (James) Tatarnic, of Niagara Falls, James (Christine) Evans, of Calgary, and the late David (Geraldine) Evans, of Niagara Falls; Dear Papa of Michael, Gregory, Caitlin, Elana, Dylan, Joshua and Adam; Brother of Marie (Jack) Cleary and the late Joan (Jerry) Mayman; Brother-in-law of Shirley (Ken) Burns, Geraldine (Ed) Dwyer, the late Maureen (Frank) Bruxer, and the late Patricia (Frank) Flanagan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and predeceased by his parents, Francis and Camilla Evans. Born in Seaforth, Bill served as an O.P.P. Constable for 12 years prior to becoming an Inspector with the Liquor License Board of Ontario until retiring in 1988. He had been a resident of Chippawa for 49 years. Bill is at the MORSE & SON CHAPEL of the MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 5917 Main Street, where his family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday. Vigil will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening at 8 o'clock. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Main Street, Chippawa, on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
