WILSON, Barbara Joan (Nee Switzer). On October 11, 2007, Barbara passed away, in her seventy-sixth year. She is survived by her husband, William (Bill), and his daughter and sons, Sandy of Whistler, BC, Stephen, Casey and Ricky, all living in the Calgary area, as well as two grandchildren, Destiny, and Brendan. She will also be fondly remembered by her brother, Ronald Switzer of Souffville Ontario, her sister Patricia Harvey, of Seminole Florida, and her nephews, Mark, David, Michael, and Rob and their offspring. Barbara was born in Toronto, but lived most of her early years in Montreal, Quebec. She spent some time in New York City, before returning to live in Chateauguay, Quebec. She was married and widowed, and then married her neighbour Bill Wilson, and subsequently brought up his children. When the children all moved out west, Barbara and Bill packed up and moved west to join them, residing first in High River, and then later moving to Nanton. Barbara loved animals, and would do anything to ensure that animals, whether they were stray cats, or the dog of the house, had a good life. She tried her hand at Restaurant ownership in Nanton, but was too generous to make it work. She was very giving, and helped many people over her lifetime. A time to for family and friends to remember and share memories of Barbara will take place at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 301 McLeod Trail, High River on Sunday, October 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Protection Society, Box 1377, Nanton, AB, TOL 1RO. Arrangements in care of Snodgrass Funeral Home Ltd., High River 403-652-2222. To email condolences to the family please visit www.snodgrassfuneralhomes.com .
