McGEE, Margaret (Doyle). April 6, 1904 - October 13, 2007. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of Margaret, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom left this life in the same way she lived it for one hundred and three and a half years, with peace, dignity and courage on Saturday, October 13, 2007. Her family was at her side. As a young woman in her early thirties, Mom was predeceased in 1938 by her beloved husband Dillon of Calumet Island (Pontiac Co.), Quebec. With great courage in difficult times, she provided a safe and loving home to her five children, William Joseph (Arlene), Dillon Kevin (Marlyn), the late Edward Patrick (Jane), the late Anna Kathleen (Thomas J. Hunt) and Thomas D'Arcy (Dianne). She was a cherished and devoted Granny of eleven and a great-grandmother of twelve. She is survived by several nieces and nephews across Canada and in England, as well as in Toomebridge, Northern Ireland where she was born the daughter of Ellen Jane O'Neill and Samuel Doyle. Mom led a busy active life well into her nineties, involved in church and community projects. To all who had the pleasure of knowing her, whether as "Margaret", or "Molly", or "Aunt Peggy", Mom was a devoted friend, always there when a helping hand was needed. She enriched all our lives. We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful nurses and all the dedicated caregivers at The Gilman Residence for the kind and generous care they gave to Mom over the past eight years. Visitation will take place at Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella St.), on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Kane & Fetterly Chapel on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at 11 a.m. If friends so desire, contributions may be directed to The Gilman Residence, c/o Montreal Association of the Blind, 7010 Sherbrooke St. West, Montreal, Qc, H4B 1R3. Condolences may be sent to www.kanefetterly.com . Gone home at last to Ivy Cottage. We'll miss you, Mom. Published in the Montreal Gazette from 10/15/2007 - 10/16/2007
