Joan "Avalis" Luella Holmes December 25, 1936 - October 26, 2000 Funeral arrangements by L. G. Wallace Funeral Home Peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital, with family by her side, on Thursday, October 26, 2000, at age 63. Loving mother of Andrew, Linda and Victor Ciappara, Robert and Cyndi of B.C., Rick and Elaine of B.C., Victor and Lana. Cherished grandmother of Tammy, A.J., Ian, Sarah, Kaylee, Andrea, Olivia, Daniel, Alex-Andrew, Erica, Daniel and great-grandma of Emily, Ashley and Jordan. Dear sister of Eleanor, Gertrude, Nancy, Margaret, Jim, Elleen, Victor, Wayne, predeceased by brother, George. Joan will be sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends and co-workers at Versa Care Centre. Joan was a dedicated member of Stanley Avenue Baptist Church. Family will receive relatives and friends at L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa St. N (544-1147), on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
