John Douglas (Jack) Walker May 10, 1911 - January 15, 2001 Funeral arrangements by Nicholls Funeral Home Entered into rest at the Huronia District Hospital, Midland on Monday January 15, 2001 in his 90th year. John Walker of Midland, beloved husband of the late Vera Faint. Dear father of Elizabeth Walker of Toronto, William Walker and his wife Margaret of Ajax, and Linda Gardiner and her husband Dan of Midland. Loving grandfather of Brent, Rory, Jeremy and Tasha. Predeceased by his brother Francis, and sisters Irene Ionson and Jean Walker. John worked in the Toronto School system from 1935 to 1972 as a teacher and coach at Central Tech, principal of Brockton High School, and vice-principal and principal of Northern Secondary. He was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club in Toronto and Midland. He served as Lt. Governor for the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District of Kiwanis International. Resting at the Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Avenue, Midland on Wednesday January 17th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 20 Robert Street East, Penetanguishene on Thursday January 18th at 2 p.m. with visitation at the church one hour prior to service. Interment at St. James Cemetery, 635 Parliament Street, Toronto on Tuesday January 23rd at 1 p.m. Memorial donations to the First Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
