Georges J.M. Navaux Georges J.M. Navaux, 89, long term resident of Riverview passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday October 16, 2007 with his children at his side. Born in Falaen, Belgium he served in the Royal Belgium Air Force as a pilot. He was interned as a P.O.W. in late 1941 for helping the underground. He immigrated to Canada in 1950 and in 1954 joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps subsequently serving in Camps Borden, Aldershot, Valcartier and Gagetown. He was discharged in 1957 when he joined the Department of Health & Welfare from which he retired in Halifax in 1982. Georges is survived by his daughter, Betty of Canning, NS; his son, John (Donna) of Moncton; a brother, Charles of Thuir, France; grandfather to Robert MacLellan, Susan Smith, Dean and Tricia (Wetterberg); great grandfather to Kyle and Madison Smith and Benjamin Wetterberg. Predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Suzanne in 2004; great grandson, Jeffrey in 2002; sister, Madeleine Cocquart, Hirson, France in 2007. In keeping with Georges' wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the IWK, Jeffrey Navaux Memorial Fund.
