SMYLIE, Vera Emma - 1920 - 2007 - Sunday morning October 7th, 2007 at Extendicare Nursing Home in Schumacher of Mrs Vera Smylie, aged 87 years, formerly of Porcupine. Beloved wife of the Late James Smylie (*1995). Loving mother of the Late Mrs. Carol Anne Juoni (*2003), James (Lorraine) Smylie of Porcupine and Robert (Diane) Smylie of Mission, B.C. Cherished grandmother of Joshua, Michael, Len, Peter, Ebon, Adam and great grandmother to 4. Treasured sister-in-law to the Late Mrs. Mary Elsey of Nova Scotia. Vera was predeceased by a son-in-law Simo Juoni in 1991 and by brothers Len and Robert, a sister Nellie and parents Florence (nee Oliver) and Charles Elsey. Vera was born in Thunder Bay and had been both; a resident of the Porcupine Camp, and a Porcupine United Church member for almost 60 years. She was also a member of the U.C.W. and the Ladies Auxillary of the R.C.Legion Branch #287 South Porcupine. Memorial donations to Porcupine United Church through the funeral home will be gratefuly acknowledged. A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday October 10th, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Porcupine United Church with Rev. Judith Perry officiating. Interment to follow in Whitney Cemetery alongside her husband. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4pm and from 7 to 9pm at the STINSON FUNERAL HOME, 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine.
