REID, Doris Emma (nee Simmers) - The family announces with sorrow the passing of Doris Emma Reid (nee Simmers), age 80, on Sunday, October 14th, 2007 in Sudbury. Predeceased by her loving husband Hilford Reid, “Red“ in 2002, and cherished daughter Jane (Reid) Lawryniw, 1985. Predeceased also by her parents, William and Florence Simmers, and one brother, Sydney. Doris is survived by daughter Ruth Reid and son-in-law Eric Moore of Sudbury. Also sister Elaine Peterson, and husband Russell of Windsor. In Timmins, grand daughter Kelly McGee and husband Deaven, great grandchildren Abby and Kira. Grandson Peter Lawryniw and partner Julie and their children. Doris will be remembered by the families of nephew Darrell Peterson (wife Karen), niece Sharlene Peterson (husband Keven) and nephew Bill Peterson (wife Joanne) and their families. Doris will be remembered by sister-in-law Margaret Reid and children David, Brenda, Michael, Judy and their families. Also remembered by sister-in-law Leona Simmers, and nieces Jill, Lorraine and Shelly and their families. Also Orest Lawryniw (former son-in-law) and his wife Pauline and family. Doris was supported, cherished and loved by her family. Doris will be remembered by her friends and the staff at Pioneer Manor in Sudbury for her easy going manner and humour. According to her wishes, Doris will be cremated and buried next to her husband in Timmins. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to a charity of choice.
