LAFLEUR, Doris Katherine (nee Cockerill) - Suddenly at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Sunday, October 28, 2007, at the age of 78. Born April 1st, 1929 in Peterborough, Ontario, the daughter of Alan Edward Cockerill and Dorothy Cockerill (nee Hopcroft). Survived and loved by her 6 children, Bill (Linda), Adrienne Brown, Paul (Allison), Sue (Brigitte), Cindy and Ron (Tina), along with her 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Predeceased by her long term companion Therese Marie Proteau (September 14, 2007), brothers Ray and Jack Cockerill, and survived by her sisters Annie Leeper and Dawn Cockerill and brothers Frank (Pat) and Alan (Barb) Cockerill. Mom lived and long and enjoyable life; she was the Minister of Finance and the Commanding General of our family. She was happiest in the kitchen, loved music, singing and dancing and was very outgoing with a fantastic sense of humour. Mom's health deteriorated over the last few years, especially since September 14, 2007. A celebration of her life will take place at The Burlington Community Church of the Salvation Army, 2090 Prospect Street, Burlington, on Friday, November 2nd, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., with internment immediately following at Trafalgar Law Cemetery, Dundas Street West at Neyagawa Boulevard, Oakville, with a reception at 5:00 p.m. at 1020 North Shore Boulevard East, Burlington. For further details, please contact Bill LaFleur (905) 520-9165. In her memory, donations to the worthy causes of The Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. “We love you Mom“. 10881360
