SUMAK, Leonard Stephen - (WWII Veteran, RCAF - Received the DFM 1943 after completing 29 missions with Bomber Command, Retired from Ford Motor Company, Oakville Plant, after 25 years of service) - Peacefully, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre Hospital Drive Site on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Ruth for almost 61 years. Loving Dad of Bob and his wife Doree of Oakville, Barb and her husband John Wojceik of Peterborough and Patricia and her husband Bill Knecht of Calgary. Loving Grandpa of Kevin (Amanda), Brandon, Marion (Marc), Gary, Stephanie and Jacqueline. Great Grandpa of Amber, Ben, Kayden and Sienna. Survived by his sister Wanda and her husband Murray Howe of Palm City, Fla., and sister-in-law Sophie of Stoney Creek. Predeceased by his brother Edmund and his parents Frank and Helena Sumak. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received on Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. at the COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough (705)745-4683, followed by a Royal Canadian Legion Service at 1:45 p.m., and a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Legion Poppy Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. 10886233
