SHIRLEY, Walter Thomas - Passed away peacefully in Oakwood Terrace Nursing Home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, on October 17, 2007, at the age of 96 years. Born in Earlstown, Lancashire, England, he immigrated to Canada in the early 50's and settled on Treasure Island, Kingston., before moving to Dartmouth. He is survived by daughter-in-law, Phyllis Shirley, Gananoque, niece, Gertrude Waters, Dartmouth, as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Katie; son, Ken and sister, Amy. Walter will be sadly missed by all. Liturgy of the Word will be held at the JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, CATARAQUI CHAPEL, (1900 John Counter Boulevard) on Wednesday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. 10887304
