SMYKALSKI, Marie ( Nee Mishibinijima) In loving memory of Marie Smykalski (nee Mishibinijima), 76 years who passed away at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia, on Thursday, October 18, 2007 of Kidney Disease. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Duke Smykalski. Loving mother of Larry (Rita) of Thunder Bay, Brian (Jannet) of Edmonton and Wayne (Dian) of Barrie. Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey, Lindsay, Joshua, Jamelle, Stanley and Brianna. Daughter of the late Fred & Catherine (nee Recollect) Mushibinijima. Dear sister of Angeline and Joe both of Wikwemikong. Predeceased by her brother David and sister Sarah. Born in Wiki in 1931, Marie was employed with the Red Cross and Kinark Family Services for close to 10 years. Throughout the years Marie had lived in Elliot Lake, Burwash, Thunder Bay and finally Barrie. Her unyielding spirit for adventure allowed her to travel far and often to visit and spend time with family. One of her greatest accomplishments was gaining her driver's license for the first time at the age of 63. Thanks for sharing with us the re- birth of our mother, Marie “Mary“ Dora Daphne Smykalski, for she is now liberated eternally from the flesh and suffering and born unto the spirit world. Her kind heart and gentle spirit will be sorrowfully missed by all who loved her. Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Mission, Wikwemikong, on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. Cremation at Parklawn Crematorium.
