PELLA, Gemma (nee Favot) - In loving memory of Gemma Pella (nee Favot), 98 years who passed away Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 at the St. Joseph's Villa, Sudbury. Gemma was born in Cimpello, Italy in 1909 and came to Canada with her young son, Roy, in 1937 to join her husband, Antonio, in Sudbury. Like many Italian immigrants, Gemma and her husband worked hard to build a life for their family. She was a long time resident of Sudbury having lived in her much loved home in the West End for over fifty years. An avid gardener, she happily shared her bounty. Gemma was an excellent cook preparing many sumptuous meals for family and friends. She touched many lives with her kindness and her giving nature. Because of this, she had many loyal friends who were very special to her. They were happy to help her in her later years so she could remain in her home. Gemma was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great- grandmother who was totally devoted and loved them all unconditionally. They brought much happiness to her life. Beloved wife of Antonio “Tony“ Pella predeceased 1959. Loving mother of Roy predeceased 1993 (wife Roma of Guelph), Robert (wife Valerie) of Calgary, Dianna (husband John Andlar) of Sudbury and Ron (wife Linda) of Toronto. Cherished Noni of Debbie (Rob Keen), Lorrie (Geoff Hadrill), Gordon, Stephen (Corrina), Jeffrey, Jennifer (Eric Baethke), John (Pam), David (Allison), Mary Catherine (Robert McMillan), Tracy, Tricia (Guy Rosa), Robert and 17 great grandchildren.
