PARTRIDGE, Gordon Edward - It is with love and much sadness that the family announces Gord's passing, in his 84th year, on October 24, 2007, at McMaster Medical Centre in Hamilton, after a very courageous battle. He was an extremely proud D-Day veteran. He graduated in 1952 from the University of Toronto in Engineering- Business. He was Chair of the Industrial Engineering department at Mohawk College and started the Co-operative Education program. Known as “Mr. Co-op“, his many accomplishments included: Member of International Co-op; CAFCE President 74- 75, 75-76; recipient of the Barber Award from CAFCE 1989; Chairman of the 6th World Conference of Co-operative Education in Hamilton in 1989. He was a member of the Dawn Patrol in Hamilton; a member of the Port Dover Lions where he started the Lion's Gala “Dance of the Roses“ fundraiser for Norfolk Hospital; a member of Port Dover Legion Branch 158; and a hard-working volunteer chef at the age of 80 at the very first Shelter Valley Folk Festival in Grafton, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Norma. His kindness, generosity, humour and quick wit will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his soulmate Gloria, his beloved children Martin (Wendy Joy Bird), Mary (Wayne Lilley), Katharine, and Vivian Partridge (David McColl) and grandchildren Erin, James, Jacob, Andrew and Graham. Thanks to Dr. Stewart Pugsley of the Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health for 27 years of care. In keeping with Gord's wishes, cremation has taken place.
