MacNEIL, Sean Michael - Valiantly at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal on Monday, October 29th, 2007 in his 34th year. Loving son of Patricia and the late John Conrad MacNeil; brother of Byrdena, Derek, and Kyle; father of Lochlain; loving uncle of Max, Maja, Scott and Alicen. Sean suffered from a congenital heart condition which required many surgeries throughout his life, the first when only 1 day old. Human innovation allowed Sean to survive 33 years and to bring his son Lochlain into this world. His final struggle ended with a leading edge surgery, a mechanical LVAD was installed on Sean's heart to assist with the heart function. The surgery in itself was a success, however, complications following the surgery led to a cascade of problems which eventually caused the remaining function of Sean's heart to give out. Sean had a unique outlook on life which allowed him to stand out in a crowd. Sean would feel some resolve in the fact that his sacrifice has advanced this field of medical science, allowing him to stand out in the crowd one last time. A Memorial Tribute will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 2 pm at the Shakespeare Presbyterian Church, Shakespeare. Friends and family will be received at the “THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL“, 96 West Street, on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm with parish prayers at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 133 Murray Street, on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 11 am followed by cremation.
