SUTCLIFFE, John Michael. Wednesday, September 29, 2004, after one year of living with cancer and in full awareness of the many blessings received during his lifetime, John Michael Sutcliffe, age 67. Beloved husband of Florence (nee Ng-Yelim). Loving father of Mark (Anita) and the late Dianne Elizabeth. Dear brother of Susan Wheeler (James), Margaret Rigg (Andrew), and the late Joan Sutcliffe of Brighouse, Yorkshire, England. Son of the late George Eric and Grace (Baildon) Sutcliffe. Born January 19, 1937 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Arrived in Canada January 31, 1956. Employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (1956-67) and Department of National Defence (1967-97). Volunteered as Ontario Provincial Treasurer of Anglican Young People's Association (1958-59), National President of Canadian Industrial Editors' Association (1971-72), President (1983-85) and Treasurer (1976-83 and 1986-88) of Federation of Catholic Parent-Teacher Associations of Ontario. The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to the staff at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre, The Ottawa Hospital and the Hospice at May Court. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue (west of Carlingwood) Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Tuesday to St. Basil's Church for Mass of Christian Funeral at 10 a.m. In Memoriam donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation appreciated.
