Wood Taschereau Simone La famille de Simone vous annonce son décès, avec un mélange de tristesse et un doux soulagement, survenu le 2 novembre 2007 à l’âge de 85 ans. Épouse chérie de feu Pierre Henri Taschereau (28 décembre 2003) durant cinquante-quatre années. Elle laisse ses enfants qui l’aimaient beaucoup, Micheline (Barry Cullen), Christine, Robert (Ute Stoltz) et André (Suzanne Pilote) et ses deux petits-enfants Peter et Jamie Cullen. Simone était la fille de feu Duncan Wood et Germaine Bégin de Farnham, Québec. Ses frères Clément et Lucien sont décédés avant elle. Simone laisse aussi ses soeurs Georgette Rousseau et Jeannine Garceau ainsi que sa belle-mère Margarite Wood. Elle manquera à plusieurs cousins, nièces et neveux ainsi qu’à sa famille élargie de la ville de Québec. Simone a fait ses études au Collège Marcoux de Saint-Jean et a travaillé fièrement comme opératrice en chef auprès de Bell Téléphone. En plus d’avoir été une femme extraordinaire et une mère dévouée, Simone fut contente de retourner travailler auprès des compagnies la Baie d’Hudson, Ciba Geigi et Homelite Textron pendant plusieurs années, jusqu’à son soixante-dixième anniversaire. Simone était une personne tranquille et privée et avait à coeur sa famille, aimait cuisiner et magasiner et appréciait la musique et la danse. Son esprit enjoué qu’elle a sûrement développé lors de ses études au couvent, combiné avec sa douceur et une foi profonde en Dieu, caractérisaient sa personnalité. La famille tient à remercier l’équipe de la Maison Herron pour leurs bons soins, spécialement Christian Gendroz qui lui a prodigué des soins attentionnés. La famille recevra les condoléances une heure avant les funérailles qui se tiendront le mardi 6 novembre à 11h30 à l’église St-Veronica’s, 1300, Carson, Dorval. Simone was the most cherished and beloved wife of the late Pierre Henri Taschereau (December 28, 2003) for fifty-four years. She is survived by her loving children, Micheline (Barry Cullen), Christine, Robert (Ute Stoltz) and Andre (Suzanne Pilote) and her two grandchildren, Peter and Jamie Cullen. Simone was the daughter of the late Duncan Wood and Germaine Begin of Farnham, Quebec. She is predeceased by her brothers Clement and Lucien and survived by her two sisters, Georgette Rousseau and Jeannine Garceau and her step-mother Margarite Wood. She will be sadly missed by her many cousins, nieces, nephews as well as her extended family in Quebec City. Simone was a graduate of College Marcoux de St-Jean, and was proud of her many years working as chief operator with Bell Telephone. As well as being a wonderful wife and devoted mother, Simone was happy to return to work for many years with Hudson's Bay Co., Ciba Geigy and Homelite Textron, until her 70th birthday. Simone was a very quiet and private person who always cared for her family, loved to shop and cook and enjoyed music and dance. Her early schooling in convents seemed to have developped a quiet, playful spirit that was part of her gentle personality. as well as a strong faith in God. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of La Maison Herron care facility for their good care and also to her faithful caregiver, Christian Gendroz. The family will receive condolences at St. Veronica's Church, 1300 Carson, Dorval, one hour prior to the 11:30 a.m. funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 6.
