TAKAHASHI, George Y. MD., MSc., D.Av.Med May 28, 1936-September 5, 2004 After a courageous battle with cancer, Dr. George Y. Takahashi passed away on September 5, 2004. Dr. Takahashi is survived by his beloved wife Elina, daughter Melanie, son-in-law Mani, brother Harry, and the extended Takahashi and Bousquet families. Dr. Takahashi received his MD in 1963 and practiced medicine in Toronto for several years before becoming a specialist in aviation medicine. After retiring from Transport Canada, he started a private practice as a medical aviation examiner and consultant. He also became Secretary-General of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine. He travelled extensively and will be greatly missed by his Canadian and International colleagues. Family, Friends and colleagues may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), on Thursday, September 9, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 3 p.m. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre (613) 247-3527 or the scholarship fund for the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine (contact Dr. C.
