DATEMA, Alida “Ann” (nee Van Der Meulen) - It is with heartfelt sadness the family announces the passing of Ann Datema at the G.N.G.H. on October 29th 2007 in her 91st year. Cherished wife of the late Joe Datema (1999). A Mother and friend that is what she was to the very end. She lived her life for those she loved. Ann and Joe loved music and sang in the Lundy's Lane United Church Choir and was a member of the U.C.W. for many years. Ann is survived by her children, Ada Wassenberg (Tom) and Joe Datema (Trix). She was Nana to Yvonne (Tony) Petta, Jackie (Jerry) Wedler, Jody (Chris) Boccinfuso, Tom Jr. (Christie) Wassenberg, Jeff Wassenberg (Ashley Havlin) and Great Nana to Kaitlyn and Carly Wedler, Julia and Sabrina Petta and Milo and Maya Boccinfuso. Also survived by her favourite niece Alice and her husband John Dikmans, Sisters-in-law, Mieke (Theo) Geers, of Holland, and Christine Datema, of Germany. Predeceased by her parents Anna and Leonard Van Meghelin and sisters and brothers in law, Rieka and Jerry Van Der Veen, Louisa and Albert Steenstra, John and Mary (Agatha) Datema, Olchert and Marta Datema, Rieks Datema, Margaretha and Joop Van Helvert, Willem and Tinie (Jean) Datema, and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. A. MacTavish for her compassion and care as well as the nurses and care takers of Unit D at the G.N.G.H. Family well receive friends at the NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE CHAPEL of the MORGAN FUNERAL HOMES, 415 Regent Street, on Thursday evening from 7- 9 o'clock. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery.
