PALA Maria Elisabetta Pala (Fiore), a resident of the Extended Care Unit, passed away at the Welland Hospital with her family at her side, on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in her 80th year. Predeceased by her husband Ercole and by her daughter Maurizia. Loving mother of Lucy Ventresca (Frank), Rosanna Cosby (Kevin) and Robert Pala. Cherished grandmother of Marisa Ventresca, Marco Ventresca and Yvon Gosselin (Carrie); and great grandmother of Riley and Hailey. Dear sister of Ada DiMarcantonio (Fernando) and John Fiore (Anna) of Welland; Francesco, Fernando, Franco, Bettina, Luigi, and their families, of Italy. Sister-in-law of Yolanda D'Andrea, Annunziata Pala and Ida Pala of Welland; Anna DiNicola and Pasquale Cornice of Italy. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Guido and Pasqua Fiore and sister Adalgisa. Maria worked for many years as a cook at the Blue Star Restaurant. She was devoted to her family, and was always willing to help others. The family will receive their friends at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence19 Young Street, Welland on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where a Vigil will be held at 3 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
