Helen Arlene CAMERON

McLEAN, Helen Arlene (Cameron) Peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Palliative Care Centre in Ottawa on October 20th, 2007, in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Paul Douglas McLean (deceased). Loving mother to Doug (Judith), Tim (Deb), Steve (Nadine Wielgopolski), Marg (Dave McCann). Happy grandma to David and Sheila, Drew, Alan and Robyn , Jean Philippe, Catherine, and Michele, Jennifer, Michael, Connor and Heather. Helen will be greatly missed by her sisters Verna Ball, Marjorie Hattie and Marilyn Morrison. Helen was the daughter of John Archibald and Jenny Cameron and was born in Sunny Brae, Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by Irene Seldon, Ralph and Louise. Helen taught for two years before serving three years in the War. She graduated from University of Ottawa in 1975 with an honours BA in English. Her marriage to Paul lasted 58 years until his death in 2005. Helen was a community-oriented mom involved with bible school, brownies and guides, Salvation Army, and her church. Her personal loves were genealogy, her book club and bridge. Her personal therapy project was the church library last month named the Helen McLean Library. A tremendous and warm thank you to the caregivers at both the Elisabeth Bruyere and OGH. A funeral service will be held at Carleton Memorial United Church 740 Melfa Cr. on Thursday October 25th at 11 AM. A taste of Nova Scotia to follow at 12. Send flowers, she loved them.
