STEWARD, Russell. (Ancien Combattant). Peacefully at home in Montreal, October 19, 2007, at age ninety, with his immediate family beside him. Beloved husband of Berriman Langstaff Perrins of Montreal, father of David (Cindy) of Calgary, Jill Moore (John) of Ottawa, Roy (Deanne) of Vancouver, and Ann (Martin) of Boston; grandfather of seven, great-grandfather of five. We will all miss him, especially his sense of humour. Born and educated in the U.K., Squadron Leader in the RAF in WWII, career in Personnel/ Labour Relations/Adjudication at BOAC, Lucas-Rotax, and De Haviland in New York and Toronto, and at Indian & Northern Affairs, Treasury Board, and the Public Service Staff Relations Board in Ottawa, starting in 1966 with the advent of collective bargaining in the Public Service. Moved to Montreal in 1993. He was a life member of the Rideau Club, and active in the Royal Military Institute, the Air Force Club, and the Federation des Anciens Combattants Francais de Montreal.
