SHARPE: Ethel Margaret 1917 - 2006 Ethel Margaret Sharpe passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Hospital on February 1, 2006. She was born on February 5, 1917, on the family farm at Morrin to Edwin and Margaret Doan. Growing up she was an ©¯ace©˜ pitcher for the famous Morrin Flyers softball team. Ethel trained as a teacher at the Calgary Normal School and taught in Morrin for six years before marrying Don, her husband of nearly sixty-five years. She was a devoted mother and doting grandmother. An active worker in the church and communities of Morrin and Munson, Ethel was a woman of many hobbies and interests. Among the pursuits that Ethel enjoyed, photography, gardening, local history, and travel ranked high. Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her family: husband Don; children Alan, Sharon (Warren) Halligan, Connie (Fran) Lavoie, and Kathy (Ken) Aberg; grandchildren Adrien, Gregory, Kelsey Lavoie, and Tim (Kyla), Graham, Laura Aberg. A memorial service was held at the Morrin United Church on Monday, February 6, 2006. If friends/family so desire, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Drumheller Hospital or the charity of your choice.
