Helen SWEEP

SWEEP: Helen October 26, 1924 - June 20, 2006 Helen passed away at the age of 81 years at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Bob on June 13, 1990. She is survived by her son Robert (Evalina) of Calgary; son Miles (Anna) and granddaughters Alannah-Myles and Ashlee of The Woodlands in Texas; and her daughter Helen Anne (Dale) and grandsons Craig and Carson of Ponoka. Helen was raised in Midland then attended Business School and later worked at Canadian Utilities in Drumheller. After having children, Helen stayed home to care for her family. She was involved as a member of the Women’s Hospital Auxiliary, participated actively in bowling, watched a lot of sports on T.V. and loved to go to the casino. Her most memorable moments were those spent with her family and she was extremely proud of her grandchildren. Helen spent her last year living in Ponoka at Legacy Place, which is a senior’s facility, where she was well looked after and gave her the opportunity to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. A family visitation took place at the Ponoka Funeral Home on Friday, June 23. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, June 26 at 12:00 PM at the Knox United Church in Drumheller. Interment followed in the Drumheller Cemetery.
