KASHUBA: Larry Gene November 7, 1946 - June 27, 2006 Larry Gene Kashuba passed away peacefully on June 27, 2006 at his home in Rumsey.Larry was born in Drumheller November 7, 1946 to Nick and Lena Kashuba. He was raised in Rumsey, where he grew up and continued farming until his passing. His family meant a lot to him. He was predeceased by his parents, Nick (1991) and Lena (1994) and his brother David (1979). He is survived by his brothers: Walter (Kathy), George (Maureen) and their children Kyle, Jordan and Kierstin; sister-in-law Anna Kashuba and her children Corrina, Sheldon and Shauna; twin brother Stephen (Carol) and their children Kevin and Kelly; Dennis and his children Nicole and Wesley; and sister Susan McIntyre. Larry is also survived by great-nephews and nieces and his Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Bill Kowalachuk. Larry was a great brother, uncle and friend. He loved farming, watching hockey, going to auctions, driving a tractor, and driving around Alberta’s countryside. Larry will be a presence who will be missed by many, especially those who he humbly and willingly helped around the town, whether it was his brother with mechanics, or a neighbour in need of a hand. In the spirit of Larry’s love of auctions we lovingly “bid” him farewell. A memorial celebration of Larry’s life was held in the Rumsey Community Hall on June 30, 2006, with Pastor Skip MacArthur presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or a charity of your choice. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. Interment at Rumsey Cemetery.
