SIMPSON: James Arthur January 4, 1920 - March 1, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Simpson announces his passing. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 63 years, Polly; their children, Jane Rosgen (Jerry), Inez Dahl, John Simpson (Lorna), Jim Simpson (Angela); 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren plus one on the way. Born in Edmonton, AB Jim was raised on the family farm near Delia, AB. After serving in the Air Force during WWII, Jim returned home with his bride, Polly. They took great pride in raising their four children and in farming for 60 years. During his years as a farmer, Jim also volunteered his time as a Cub Scout leader and baseball coach, contributed 62 years to the Delia Legion Branch #61 (including a term as President) and was an avid bridge player. After moving to Drumheller in 2005, Jim took joy in being able to spend time with his family and especially to be with his wife, Polly, who was the love of his life. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Delia Community Hall followed by lunch. There will be a private family graveside service prior to the funeral. The family wishes to recognize and thank Dr. Graham and the staff of the Drumheller Health Care Centre. If friends and family so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
