SHANDERA: Mary Ellen (nee Butler) 1928 - 2007 Mary Ellen Shandera beloved wife of Rudolph passed away at the age of 78 years at the Drumheller Hospital Acute Care on June 21, 2007. Mary was born in Butlerville, Newfoundland on July 6, 1928 and came to Canada in 1946 following WWII as the war bride to Rudolph. Mary is survived by four children; Raymond (Elizabeth) Shandera, Philip (Anita) Shandera, Gerald (Brenda) Shandera, Geraldine (Steve) Racine. Mary is also survived by 21 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Mary was predeceased by her grandson David Shandera on August 19, 1977. A Celebration of Mary’s life was held in Drumheller on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. If friends so desire Memorial Tributes may be made to the Morrin United Church or to the Drumheller Salvation Army in Mary’s name. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel entrusted with the arrangements.
