SHARPE: Ellen 1914 - 2007 We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Rebecca “Ellen” Sharpe on August 14, 2007 at the Sunshine Lodge, Drumheller, Alberta. Ellen was born at Munson, Alberta on January 13, 1914 where she lived all of her life. Ellen led the Explorers, C.G.I.T. and was the past president and member of United Church Women for over 65 years. She was predeceased by her husband Rod in 1998 and daughter Loretta in 1942. She is survived by one daughter; Janet (Paul) Benedictson of Strathmore, three sons; Rick (Anna) Sharpe of Drumheller, George (Heather) Sharpe of Munson, Doug Sharpe (Sharon Aldcroft) of Vernon, BC; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Flora Nelson of Ridgeway, Ontario, Violet Cheslak of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A Celebration of Life service was held from the Morrin United Church on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 2:30 P.M. with Reverend Mary Ellen Moore officiating. A family interment was held at the Munson Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Sunshine Lodge Fund in memory of Ellen Sharpe. Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel entrusted with the arrangements.
