HAYES, Robert Charles - Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in Peterborough at 11:00 p.m. on Remembrance Day, November 11th, 2007. Bob, a Fighter Pilot in WWII served in 125 Squadron (later 441). He was an enthusiastic member of the Typhoon Pilots Association. He met his beloved wife Pearle (Booth) who also served in the R.C.A.F. They married on July 3, 1946. Bob was very proud of his son Robert (and Alexis) as well as his daughters Marilyn Leonard (and John), Susan Hayes and Sharon Hayes. He cherished his wonderful grandchildren Robert Butler (and Paula), Jonathon (and Dorothy) Leonard, Jamie (and Cindy) Leonard, Michelle, Benjamin (and Jessica), and Trevor Hayes, Christopher Hayes (and Stephanie) and Rory Hayes. Later in his life he was blessed by three small miracles, his great grandchildren Brooke Leonard-Borczak, Jack Leonard and Nadia Hayes. Bob is survived by his brother Carl Hayes as well as his sisters Muriel Watson and Dorothy Montgomery (and Tom). His family thanks the kind staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dr. Ragaz and the Kaye Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Bob's life in Peterborough on Thursday, December 13th from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #52, 1550 Lansdowne Street, West.
