STEWART, Frances Elizabeth (Weir) - Peacefully at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia on Saturday November 10, 2007 FRANCES ELIZABETH (WEIR) STEWART, Age 90, formerly of Brigden has joined her husband Andrew Stewart (1990) in heaven. Frances was born in Scarborough Township on September 19, 1917 and was married to Andy in August 1941 on the Weir farm in St. Mary's. She is survived by her sons William (friend Joanne) of Guelph and Donald (Geraldine) of Mooretown. Grandchildren Andrew (Allison), Scott (Rosie) and Paul Stewart, Brian (Pat) Stewart of Mooretown, Carolyn (Joe) Stonehouse of Corunna. Great grandchildren Tavin Stewart; Matthew, Michael and Kate Stewart; Tyler and Nathan Mater; Beau, Brett and Ben Stonehouse. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Frances was a teacher for a few years before getting married. Frances and Andy moved to Brigden in 1951 with their sons and operated the Purity Creamery and Frances ran the Dairy Bar until almost 70 years of age. Frances and Andy spent many winters in Florida and she continued her trips south after Andy was gone. She was involved in the Eastern Star Naomi Chapter 39, Womens Institute, Brigden United Church U.C.W and the Brigden Fair, where they were able to win many prizes for their roses, baking and crafts. She was also an astute bridge player. She is predeceased by her parents Roy and Sybil (Sellers) Weir, brother Lloyd Weir and his wife Marion, sisters Margaret Howe and her husband Herb, Gladys Strahan and her husband Carl, brothers-in-law Tom Stewart and his wife Marion, Mel Stewart and his wife Evelyn. Friends will be received at STEADMAN BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, BRIGDEN on Thursday, November 15, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with Funeral Service on Friday, November 16th at 1:00 pm. Debra McGill officiating. Interment Bear Creek Cemetery. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be conducted on Thursday evening at 6:45 pm. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Parkinson's Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
