SYMONDS, KELVIN - Died peacefully on November 13, one day short of his 86th birthday, in Woodstock, Ont. Much loved husband of Hilda (née Fitzpatrick), father of Dianna and John Symonds, and father-in- law of Ken McCarter and Karin Barnett Symonds. Adored grandpa of the original five-all girls-Jill (Ysrael Levin), Leslie and Allison Symonds; and Alexandra and Siobhan McCarter. Chosen grandfather of Lauren, Michael, and Mark Barnett. Born on a farm not far from Cornwall, Ont. to Harry and Ethel Symonds. All of Kelvin's siblings predeceased him - Laura, Bill, Jim, Arnold, Cecil, Lyall, and Muriel. He is survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Kel spent his working life at Cabot Carbon in Sarnia and his spare time volunteering, going to the hockey rink, supporting the Leafs, and trying to improve his golf game. His macaroni and cheese and turkey dinners were a staple of family celebrations. Dogs and other animals have lost a true friend and animal lover. Kelvin'sgentle manner and wry wit will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the STEWART FUNERAL HOME, 254 George Street, Sarnia on Friday Nov. 16th. at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Dugan officiating. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
