OBITUARY MIRIAM JOSEPHINE NAYLOR (nee REID) Passed away peacefully on October 20, 2007 in her one hundred and fifth year. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy Reid and predeceased by her husband Edgar, her brother Lewis, her sister Dorothea, and recently (October 11, 2007) her nephew Rev. Canon David Reid (Patti). Also beloved Auntie Mir of Glenna Vipond (John) and Tom Reid (Rose Ann). Dear great- Auntie Mir of Tom and Shelley, Elizabeth and Mary, Angela, Tim and Alison and great-great aunt of nine nieces and nephews. She graduated from Macdonald College Teacher Training School and Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing where she received her RN. She devoted herself to nursing, worked tirelessly on their farm in St. Armand, Quebec and provided idyllic summer-long vacations for her niece and the twin nephews on "The Farm". At the age of eighty and for the next fifteen years, she and her sister began to take three month, twenty five thousand kilometre adventure trips exploring the whole of North America by car. Her particular love was the Canadian North where her husband was born. Their extensive travels kept the rest of her family entranced. Auntie Mir was a woman of great faith, an exceptional and special person, a happy, gentle soul, finding only the best in everyone and inspiring and raising the spirits of all who knew her. She will be warmly remembered for her kindness, friendly smile and twinkling eyes, her love of nature, her devotion to family, friends and Church. In the mid 1990s, she was honoured to receive the Bishop's Award in recognition for her constant contribution to the work of the Church. Heartfelt thanks to Susan and Marianne Woods, their family and staff at Susan Woods Seniors Care Residence and Dr. Ron Hryniowski for their wonderful and loving care to Auntie Mir during her final years in Hudson, QC. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at St. James' Anglican Church, Philipsburg, Quebec. Memorial donations may be made to her favourite charity, The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund, 80 Hayden Street Toronto, Ontario M4Y 3G2, or charity of your own choice.
