John Edward HUNT

HUNT, Fr. John Edward, OMI Suddenly, on Monday, November 5, 2007, age 68 years. Fr. John was predeceased by his parents, Edward Hunt and Anita Daze. He was ordained as a Priest, September 21, 1968, as a member of the religious congregation of The Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Fr. John has served the people of God in many capacities; as the Superior at the Holy Rosary Scholasticate (Ottawa), as the editor of "Oblate Missions", a Missionary in Peru, on the Pastoral Team of St. Joseph's Parish in Ottawa, and as Chaplain at CFB Edmonton and Joyceville Penitentiary. Most recently, he was involved in outreach ministries in the Ottawa area. He would frequently minister at Madonna della Risurrezione (Fisher Avenue), Shepherds of Good Hope, Edgewood Residence, and his own special funeral ministry. Fr. John's passion for life and individualism will be fondly missed by his Oblate brothers and those he served with compassion and understanding. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Friday, 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Fr. John's funeral Liturgy will be held at Canadian Martyrs Parish, 100 Main Street, Ottawa, on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 10:30a.m., followed by a reception at 130 Springhurst Avenue.
