HOPKINS, Norma Elaine (nee Mariner). Peacefully on November 6, 2007 in her seventy-eighth year at St. Peter's Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, after a brief but intense illness. Survived by her best friend and husband of fifty-five years, Gerry, son Steve (Elizabeth Wensley), daughter Nancy Bard of Raleigh, NC, and "grandgirls" Stephanie, Clare, Natalie and Rosie. Many thanks to Hamilton CCAC and especially ParaMed PSW's Glenna and Minda and VON RN's Alice and Greg whose excellent care enabled her to remain at home as long as she did. We are grateful for the prayerful support of many, many friends, including at St. John's (Ancaster), St. Christopher's (Burlington) and St. Andrew and St. Mark's (Dorval, QC). Friends will be received at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster Chapel, 378 Wilson Street East Thursday, November 8, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A celebration of Norma's life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 272 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, Ontario on Friday, November 9 at 1 p.m. Cremation will follow with interment in the family plot in Memorial Gardens, Pointe Claire, Qc at a later date.
