OBITUARY FRED RONALD MOREHOUSE Peacefully at home in his one-hundred and first year on November 13, 2007. Born on April 15, 1907 in Springhill, Nova Scotia. He was a proud graduate from Mount Allison University (BSc) class of 1928. He received his MSc from McGill class of 1931 and his PhD from McGill in Chemistry class of 1932. During his career he lived in Berlin, Germany prior to WWII, he then relocated to Western Canada and finally settled in Quebec. He retired from Gulf Chemicals after many years of service. He summered in his beloved Sandy Cove, Nova Scotia with his wife Naomi (Gay) Thacker who predeceased him in 1992. He is survived by his sister Gwyneth (late Gordon Quigley) of Sandy Cove, his daughter Judith (Francois Dallegret) and son James (Pauline Dubee). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Elissa (Maxime Auger), Justin, Shaun, Erin (Jeff Graham), Laura and by his great-grandson, Raphael Auger. Ron loved to tell jokes and he was ready to recite a limerick right up to the very end. He enjoyed spending his time with photography, reading and gardening. He had a strong devotion to music and looked forward to the Saturday afternoon Operas on the CBC. His fascination with genealogy led him to write an account of the Morehouse Ancestry that preserves many details of early Loyalist life in Nova Scotia that would otherwise have been forgotten. His love for education never waned and until recent years he was very involved with the Eldridge Memorial Library in Sandy Cove. A special thank you to Mrs. Joan Foster for her loving care and the CLSC NDG-Montreal West for their support. As per his request there will be no funeral service and the internment will take place next summer in Sandy Cove.
