ROTTGERS, HELMUT WILHELM - The death of Helmut Wilhelm, husband of Barbara Teresa (McKinney), occurred unexpectedly on October 19, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bremerhaven, Germany he was the son of the late Reent and Irmgard Rottgers. He was employed with Quality Control Department at Saint John Ship Building Ltd. and then worked as a contractor with several manufacturing firms throughout the United States and Europe. He was a gentle and kind person who would help anybody. He enjoyed music, played the accordian and was a Skatmeister. After retiring Helmut enjoyed many hours on his land on the Belleisle cutting wood. Besides his wife he is survived by his brother, Reent of Germany and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he is predeceased by his sister, Renate. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 pm from Brenans Chapel followed by cremation.
