Daniel Leo Burns 1947-2007 Daniel Burns, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, November 7th, 2007. Born in Alma West, May 10th, 1947, he is the son of Leo and Winnifred (Dixon) Burns. Daniel was a retired brakeman with the C.N.R.; an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching the Maple Leafs, the Raptors, and NASCAR races. He loved classic movies, music and his cats Quasie and Squeaky. He is survived by his common-law wife, Rosemarie Burke (Wilson); daughters, Jennifer Burns (Timmy) of Moncton, Lori Burns, Manchester, England; brother, Arnold Burns of Moncton; sister, Jeannie MacBeth (Mike) of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Dallas Burns and Kylie Burns-LeBlanc, Amanda & Issac LeBlanc Burke, Katlin Anderson, Jason Burke, (Natalie), Jeffrey Burke, Moncton Stephanie Burke (Troy); as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Trueman, and nephew, William Burns. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10th from 6-9 pm at Fair Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 11th, in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home, Pastor Gordon James presiding. A reception will follow the service in the Garden View reception room. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
