Dewart Fry, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2007. He was 78. Born in Hanover, son of the late Marvin and Irene (nee Urstadt) Fry. Dewart worked at Peppler Furniture as a Furniture Finisher. He was also a member of the Hanover Legion Branch 130 and a Veteran of the Korean War. Survived by daughters Lynn (Alvin) Jessop of Barrie, Nancy (Gary) Cook of Hanover, Cathy (Rick) Baetz of Barrie; grandchildren Tyler Jessop, Stacy Jessop, Matt Cook, Mike (Sara) Cook and Chris Baetz; great-grandson Cameron Cook. Also survived by his brother-in-law, Bob Lamont (Lynn) of Mount Forest, and sister-in-law Agnes Fry of Hanover. Predeceased by his wife Geraldine (Lamont) Fry and brother Douglas Fry. Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, with Hanover Legion Memorial Service at 6:45 pm. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 11 am at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover. Rev. Alice Wilson officiated. Cremation to follow with interment in Holstein Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
