BENACQUISTA, Rosa (Rosetta) - Rosa Benacquista passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health Norman St. Site, Sarnia, surrounded by her family on November 27, 2007 at the age of 65. Rosa was born in Broccostella, Frosinone in Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1958 to join her husband Antonio to start a new life. In 1963 she was employed at Sarnia General Hospital in the housekeeping department and retired in 2003 after 40 years of service. Her retirement was short lived upon her diagnosis of dementia. Rosa was predeceased by her beloved husband Antonio (1973). Dear loving mother to Rocco and his wife Rita. Loving Nonna to Anthony, David, Jessica, Stephanie, Kaitlyn and Rachel. Daughter of Giuseppa Campangna and the late Pietro Cipollone. Sister of Pietrina and Ernesto Taglione; Carmela and Robert Konc; sister-in-law of Antonia Cipollone; Arcangela Giuseppa Benacquista; and Palmina Pennachia. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Luigi Cipollone, father and mother-in-law Agostino and Rosina Benacquista, brothers-in-law Giuseppe Benacquista and Loretto Pennachia. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 1465 Lecaron, Sarnia on Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Our Lady Of Mercy Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 and evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
