SMITH, Dr. Douglas Chapman - Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (Hospital Drive Site) in his 86th year. Beloved wife of Rita (nee Holman) for 50 years. Dear Dad of Sandra and her husband Norman Traversy and Ron and his wife Lynn. Loving Grandpa & Papa of Kelly & Conor, Sarah, Mary and Megen. Dear brother of Ruth; predeceased by his brother Graham and sister Amorette. He will be fondly remembered by Barbara, Robert and Brenda. Doug was a member of Ontario Veterinary College Alumni, founding member of Peterborough Pet Hospital, past president of Peterborough Humane Society, past president of Lakefield Lions Club and a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Peterborough. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 4:00 pm on Thursday, November 22, 2007 in the chapel of COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, (705) 745- 4683.
