James Deeves, of Hanover, passed away at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, November 16, 2007. He was 75. Born in Hanover, son of the late Albert and Laura (Barnard) Deeves. James worked with Ontario Hydro until retiring. He was a former member of the Lawn Bowling Club and the Hanover Legion Branch #130. Cherished husband of Norma (nee MacMillan) Deeves, dear father of Paul (Barbara) Deeves of Leamington, grandson Christopher (Theresa) Deeves of Guelph and great-grandchildren Sebastian and William. Also survived by his brother George Deeves of London, sister Mary Vandervoort (Leo) of Grand Island, New York and sister-in-law Esther Deeves of London. Predeceased by his brothers Jack and Steven and sisters Lorraine Huemiller and Dorothy Naleway. Visitation was held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11 am at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Hanover. Rev. Alice Wilson officiated. Interment in Hanover Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Werth, Dempsey Yost, Doug Mercey, Hart Ridderbusch, Jim Jackson and Bill Wilson. Memorial donations to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation or Alzheimer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
