LEAR, Edgar “John“ - (“The Lord giveth life and the Lord taketh away life“ Blessed is the name of the Lord. Job Chap 1 - V. 21) Passed away peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital, Saturday, November 24, 2007 in his 81st year. John was the beloved husband of Irene Lear (Downham) for 56 years. Left to mourn his loss, his wife Irene. Devoted father to sons Leonard (Nancy) of Englehart, Joseph (Joe), Edward (Ted) of Brantford, David (Malar) of Toronto, daughters Mary, Anne (Paul) Chamberlain of Brantford, Janice (James) Thomson of Paris and Nancy Lehman of Elora. Grandpa to 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. John was an employee of the City of Brantford for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1992. Friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at St. Jude's Anglican Church corner of Dalhousie and Peel Streets, Brantford at 1 pm.
