JEFFERY, Howard Albert (Bud) - At home in South River with his family and friends. Howard Albert (Bud) Jeffery, peacefully passed away on November 27th, 2007 at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 57 years to the late Gertrude (Gertie) Jeffery, dear mother of Larry and wife Marie of South River, Richard of South River, Patty Tate and husband Darryl of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Cathy Shore and husband Ed of Comox, B.C., Tom and wife Kathleen of Lively; very special Uncle Bud of Thelma Smeltzer of Guelph and Elaine Hadaway and husband Jim of Guelph; loving Poppa to Drew, Trent, Jami, Luke, Grant, Alyssa, Adam, Garrett and Nathan, loving Poppa Bud to Alexis and Kayla. Predeceased by his parents Clara (McCartney) and Tom Jeffery, his brothers Gilbert (Marion), Tom (June) and Grant, infant sister Dorothy, sister Pearl Whalley (Chuck). He is survived by his sisters Bertha Baragar, Elva Vigrass (the late John), Laura Fudger (the late George), Myrtle Thompson, Helen Clelland (Stan) and Evelyn Vankoughnett (the late Earl) and sister-in- law Audrey Jeffery. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Bud was a member of Grace Anglican Church and a past president and life time member of the South River Branch No. 390 Royal Canadian Legion. Friends are invited to visit the family at Grace Anglican Church, South River on Friday, November 30th from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm and 9 pm, with a Legion Service at 6:30 pm. A service to commemorate Bud's life will be held at Chalmers United Church, South River on Saturday, December 1st at 1:30 pm celebrated by Patrick McManus. Arrangements have been entrusted to the RANEY FUNERAL HOME in South River (705-386-2624). Flowers gratefully received or donations may be made to the Grace Anglican Church, South River or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
